PACEM IN TERRIS UNDER NEW DIRECTORSHIP

Georg Christoph Sandmann has taken over the artistic administration of the Bayreuth Music Competition, PACEM IN TERRIS. With a wealth of experience as Music Director in several theatres, and as a lecturer at the music academy in Dresden and the International Mendelssohn Foundation in Leipzig, Sandmann brings a new artistic vision to the competition with a fresh focus. Alongside the alternating instrumental categories, a chamber music round and a composer in residence will both play a role in the future of the PACEM IN TERRIS competition.  In February 2014 Georg Christoph Sandmann, who conducted the Prize Winners’ Concerts from 2005 to 2007, will reopen this world renowned competition for young musicians.
